With a background in teaching both young learners and adults, and a minor in linguistics, I bring expertise in language structure as well as practical communication skills. I use a range of communicative and task-based methods to make learning engaging and meaningful. For example, I often apply Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) to encourage real-life language use, and incorporate elements of Task-Based Learning to help students build fluency through practical tasks. I also adapt lessons to suit different learning styles—visual, auditory, or kinesthetic—to ensure each student feels supported. My students can expect personalized, interactive lessons that build confidence, fluency, and a deeper understanding of English—skills they can use for travel, study, or professional success.

One of my key strengths as a teacher is my ability to clarify language effectively. For example, in a recent lesson, I broke down complex language in a way that made it accessible and meaningful for the student, which significantly improved her comprehension. I also make consistent use of concept checking questions (CCQs) to ensure understanding, which helps reinforce learning and identify any gaps. Another strong quality is my ability to create a supportive environment that encourages students to speak in the target language. This builds their confidence and helps them apply what they've learned in real-world contexts. Overall, I strive to make my lessons clear, engaging, and responsive to each learner’s needs.

My professional learning journey began with a strong academic foundation in language and education, including a minor in linguistics, which gave me insight into how language works and how it’s acquired.  I began my teaching career with adults, working across different cultures and educational contexts. I gained experience with a range of teaching approaches—some programs focused on reading and student autonomy, others emphasized grammar and functions, while some prioritized communication and conversation. Each approach taught me something valuable, and I gradually developed my own teaching style. Later, I began teaching children and went through a similar process of adapting to different age groups, learning environments, and methodologies. Through it all, I’ve shaped a flexible, student-centered approach that focuses on building confidence, fluency, and practical communication skills.
